Oarlocks

Oarlocks are the devices that hold the oars in place on a boat or ship. They are typically made of metal or wood and are attached to the gunwale or thole pins of the boat. Oarlocks allow the oars to pivot and move freely, while also providing a secure point of attachment for the oars. They are an essential component of rowing and are used on a variety of vessels, from small rowboats to large ships. Proper maintenance and adjustment of oarlocks is important for safe and efficient rowing.
