OPRC

OPRC stands for Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Cooperation. It is an international convention that provides a framework for international cooperation and mutual assistance in preparing for and responding to major oil pollution incidents. The convention requires states to establish measures for dealing with pollution incidents, including the development of national contingency plans, the designation of competent authorities and the provision of equipment and trained personnel. OPRC also establishes a system of cooperation between states in the event of a pollution incident, including the sharing of information, the provision of technical assistance and the coordination of response efforts.
