Radio Communications

Radio communications refer to the use of radio waves to transmit information between two or more points. In the maritime context, radio communications are essential for safe and efficient navigation, as well as for search and rescue operations. Radio communications can be used for a variety of purposes, including transmitting distress signals, communicating with other vessels or shore-based facilities, obtaining weather information, and coordinating navigation. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) regulates the use of radio communications in the maritime industry through a set of international regulations known as the Radio Regulations.
