Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis is a water treatment process that removes dissolved solids, organic matter, and other impurities from seawater or brackish water. The process involves applying pressure to the water, forcing it through a semi-permeable membrane that allows water molecules to pass through while blocking the passage of dissolved salts and other impurities. Reverse Osmosis is commonly used in the maritime industry to produce fresh water from seawater for drinking, cooking, and other onboard uses. It is also used in the treatment of ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species.
