Stern Frame
A stern frame is a structural element of a ship located at the sternpost, which is the upright structural member at the very back of the ship. The stern frame is designed to support the ship's propeller and rudder, as well as to provide additional strength to the hull. It is typically made of steel and is an integral part of the ship's overall structure. The stern frame is also used to attach the ship's steering gear and to provide a mounting point for the ship's shafting. In addition, it may be used to support other equipment, such as sonar or depth sounders.
