Set Bolt

A set bolt is a type of bolt used in maritime industry to secure heavy machinery and equipment to the deck of a ship. It is a specially designed bolt that has a tapered end and a nut with a conical shape. The bolt is inserted into a hole in the deck and tightened with a wrench. As the bolt is tightened, the tapered end expands and creates a tight fit between the bolt and the hole. This creates a secure anchor point for the machinery or equipment, preventing it from moving or shifting during rough seas or heavy winds.
