Swab

Swab is a nautical term that refers to the act of cleaning the deck of a ship or boat using a mop or a brush. This is done to remove dirt, salt, and other debris that may accumulate on the deck. Swabbing is an important part of ship maintenance as it helps prevent corrosion and keeps the deck safe and clean for the crew. In addition, swabbing is also done to put out fires on the deck or to clean up spills of oil or other hazardous materials. Swabbing is usually done by the deck crew and is a routine task that is performed daily or as needed.
