Trawl Door

A trawl door, also known as an otter board, is a large flat panel that is used as a towing device for fishing nets. It is attached to the fishing vessel by a set of cables and is designed to keep the mouth of the fishing net open while it is being towed through the water. Trawl doors come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the type of fishing being done and the size of the fishing vessel. They are typically made of wood, steel, or aluminum and are designed to be durable enough to withstand the harsh conditions of the open sea.
