Watertight Doors

Watertight doors are specially designed doors that prevent the passage of water from one compartment to another in a ship or submarine. These doors are an essential safety feature that helps to prevent flooding and maintain the stability of the vessel. Watertight doors are designed to withstand the pressure of water on one side and the air pressure on the other side. They are usually made of steel and have a rubber gasket around the perimeter to ensure a watertight seal. Watertight doors are operated manually or automatically and can be remotely controlled from the bridge or other control stations. In case of an emergency, watertight doors can be closed quickly to prevent water from flooding other compartments.
