Welding Bead

In maritime context, welding bead refers to the continuous line of molten metal that is deposited by a welding process to join two pieces of metal together. The welding bead is formed by the heat of the welding arc melting the base metal and the filler metal, which then cools and solidifies to form a strong joint. In shipbuilding, welding beads are used extensively to join steel plates and other components together to form the hull and superstructure of the vessel. The quality of the welding bead is critical to the strength and integrity of the joint, and must be carefully controlled and inspected to ensure that it meets the required standards.
