Superstructure
In maritime context, superstructure refers to the part of a ship or boat that is above the main deck level. It includes all the structures and fittings that are erected on the deck such as cabins, bridge, masts, funnels, and ventilators. The superstructure provides shelter and accommodation for the crew and passengers, and also houses the navigation and communication equipment. It is usually made of steel, aluminum, or composite materials and is designed to withstand the harsh marine environment. The size and shape of the superstructure depend on the type and purpose of the vessel, and it can be modified or removed to suit the changing needs of the ship.
