Whales

Whales are large marine mammals that belong to the order Cetacea. They are characterized by their streamlined bodies, blowholes for breathing, and flippers or flukes for swimming. Whales are found in all of the world's oceans, from the Arctic to the Antarctic. They are divided into two suborders: baleen whales and toothed whales. Baleen whales have a comb-like structure in their mouths that they use to filter small organisms from the water, while toothed whales have teeth and hunt for larger prey. Whales are important to the marine ecosystem and have been hunted for their meat, oil, and other products. Many species of whales are currently endangered due to overhunting and other human activities.
