Abrid

Abrid is a term used in maritime context to refer to a shortened version of a navigational chart. It contains only the most essential information required for safe navigation, such as water depths, navigational aids, and hazards to navigation. Abrid charts are often used in areas where full-scale charts are not available or where the full-scale chart is too large to be easily managed on board. They are also used as backup charts in case the primary chart is lost or damaged. Abrid charts are typically produced by national hydrographic offices and are updated regularly to ensure accuracy.
