Anchor Stopper

An Anchor Stopper is a device used to secure the anchor chain in place and prevent it from slipping through the hawsepipe. It is typically made of cast iron or steel and is attached to the chain by a shackle. The stopper is placed on the chain when the anchor is lowered and is released when the anchor is raised. It is an important safety feature that ensures the anchor remains securely in place, preventing the vessel from drifting or dragging. The stopper also allows the crew to adjust the length of the anchor chain without having to raise the anchor. Proper use of an anchor stopper is essential for safe and efficient anchoring operations.
