Beam Line

In maritime context, Beam Line refers to an imaginary line drawn perpendicular to the centerline of a ship, passing through the widest part of the ship's hull. The distance between the two points where the beam line intersects the waterline is known as the beam of the ship. The beam line is an important reference line used in ship design and construction, as it determines the ship's stability, maneuverability, and cargo carrying capacity. The beam line is also used in navigation to determine the ship's position relative to other vessels or navigational hazards. Additionally, the beam line is used in shipbuilding to determine the size and shape of the ship's hull, as well as the placement of the ship's machinery and equipment.
