Container Gantry Cranes
Container Gantry Cranes are large, specialized cranes used for loading and unloading intermodal containers from container ships. They are typically located in port terminals and can handle containers stacked up to 5 high on deck and 3 high below deck. These cranes are operated by highly skilled operators who use a cabin located on top of the crane to control the movement of the crane and the spreader, which is used to lift and move the containers. Container Gantry Cranes are essential for the efficient and safe handling of containers in ports, and their size and capacity have increased over the years to keep up with the growing size of container ships.
