Crane

A crane is a type of machine, generally equipped with a hoist rope, wire ropes or chains, and sheaves, that can be used both to lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. In maritime context, cranes are commonly used in ports and shipyards for loading and unloading cargo from ships. They are also used for moving heavy equipment and containers on and off the ships. Cranes used in maritime industry are usually mounted on a barge, a ship or on the dock. They come in different sizes and types, such as gantry cranes, mobile cranes, and tower cranes, depending on the specific needs of the operation.
