EEDI
The Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) is a measurement of a ship's energy efficiency and carbon emissions. It is a mandatory requirement for new ships under the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) MARPOL Annex VI regulations. The EEDI is calculated based on a ship's design and takes into account factors such as its size, speed, and engine power. The lower the EEDI value, the more energy efficient the ship is considered to be.
