Man Ropes

Man ropes are ropes or lines that are used to provide a handhold for a person climbing up or down a ship's side or over the side of a lifeboat. They are typically made of strong, durable materials such as hemp or nylon, and are secured to the ship's railings or lifeboat sides with knots or hooks. Man ropes are an important safety feature on ships, as they provide a secure grip for crew members and passengers when embarking or disembarking from a vessel. They are also used in emergency situations, such as during a man overboard drill, to help rescue a person from the water.
