Port Facility Security Plan

A Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) is a comprehensive document developed and implemented by the port facility authority in the maritime context. It is designed to safeguard the port facility, vessels, cargo, and personnel from potential security threats. The PFSP is a critical component of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which was established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to enhance maritime security in response to perceived threats to ships and port facilities around the world. The PFSP includes detailed procedures for assessing security risks, implementing security measures, maintaining security communications, and responding to security threats or breaches. It also outlines the roles and responsibilities of the port facility security officer and other personnel involved in maintaining port security. The PFSP is subject to regular audits and updates to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with evolving security standards and regulations.
