Raised Forecastle
A raised forecastle is a deck area at the bow of a ship that is raised above the main deck level. It is typically used on ships that operate in rough seas to prevent water from washing over the bow and to provide a better vantage point for lookouts. The raised forecastle also provides additional space for crew quarters, storage, and equipment. In some cases, the raised forecastle may also house the ship's anchor and anchor chain.
