Safety Hazard

A safety hazard is any condition or situation on board a vessel that has the potential to cause harm to personnel, damage to equipment or the environment. Safety hazards can be caused by a variety of factors, including human error, equipment failure, environmental conditions, and operational procedures. Examples of safety hazards on board a vessel include slippery decks, unsecured cargo, malfunctioning machinery, and hazardous materials. It is the responsibility of the vessel's crew to identify and mitigate safety hazards to ensure the safety of all personnel on board and to prevent damage to the vessel and the environment.
