Stern Thruster

A stern thruster is a type of propulsion system that is mounted on the stern (back) of a ship or boat to provide lateral (sideways) thrust. It consists of a propeller that can rotate 360 degrees and is powered by an electric or hydraulic motor. The stern thruster is used to maneuver the vessel in tight spaces, such as when docking or navigating through narrow channels. It can also be used to counteract the effects of wind and current. The stern thruster is particularly useful for large vessels that are difficult to maneuver with just the main propulsion system. It can be operated independently of the main engines, allowing for greater control and precision in maneuvering.
