VHF Radios

VHF (Very High Frequency) Radios are a type of two-way radio communication system that operates on frequencies between 156 and 174 MHz. They are commonly used in the maritime industry for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore communication, as well as for communication with port authorities, coast guards, and other vessels. VHF Radios are essential for safety at sea, as they allow for quick and reliable communication in case of emergencies, such as distress calls, man overboard situations, or collisions. They also provide weather updates, navigational information, and other important messages. VHF Radios have a limited range, typically up to 20 nautical miles, and require a clear line of sight between the transmitting and receiving antennas.
