Deck Officers

Deck Officers are responsible for the safe navigation and operation of a ship. They are in charge of the deck crew and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, maintenance of the ship's equipment, and communication with other ships and shore-based facilities. Deck Officers must have a thorough understanding of navigation, weather patterns, and international maritime regulations. They are also responsible for ensuring the safety of the crew and passengers, and for responding to emergencies such as fires, collisions, and man overboard situations. Deck Officers typically hold a license issued by a maritime authority, and their rank and responsibilities vary depending on the size and type of the vessel.
