Scrubbers

Scrubbers are air pollution control devices that are used to remove harmful substances such as sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) from exhaust gases generated by marine engines. In the maritime industry, scrubbers are installed on ships to comply with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) regulations on emissions. There are two types of scrubbers: open loop and closed loop. Open loop scrubbers use seawater to remove pollutants, while closed loop scrubbers use a liquid chemical solution. Scrubbers are an effective way to reduce emissions and meet environmental regulations, but they require regular maintenance and can be expensive to install.
