Water Ingress

Water Ingress refers to the unintentional entry of water into a ship's hull or any other compartment. It can occur due to various reasons such as hull damage, leakage in pipes or valves, or even due to heavy weather conditions. Water Ingress can be a serious threat to the safety of the ship and its crew as it can lead to flooding, loss of buoyancy, and stability issues. Therefore, it is important to have proper measures in place to prevent and control water ingress, such as regular maintenance and inspection of the hull and equipment, installation of watertight doors and hatches, and having a well-trained crew to respond to emergency situations.
