Tween Decks

In maritime context, Tween Decks refers to the deck or decks situated between the main deck and the hold of a ship. These decks are usually used for cargo stowage and are commonly found in general cargo ships. Tween Decks are designed to maximize the use of available space and to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo. They are usually accessed by cargo hatches and can be equipped with ladders, cargo lifts, and other equipment to aid in cargo handling. The term 'tween' is derived from the word 'between', as these decks are located between the main deck and the hold.
